The total length of the Jabodebek LRT alignment is 43.3 km, and it will have 17 stations, including a depot. The project is scheduled to begin commercial operations in 2022.
Previously, SMEC was engaged by the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation to supervise the fast-tracked completion of the Palembang LRT, ensuring that the commercial operation of the LRT commenced in time for the 2018 Asian Games which were co-hosted by Jakarta and Palembang. The construction of LRT systems in Palembang and Jakarta have inspired other major Indonesian cities to follow suit, including Bandung, Surabaya, Medan and Makassar.
