Dandora Estate Sewage Treatment Works (DESTW) is a section of Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company. The Dandora sewage treatment plant is located about 30 km from Nairobi city. The Dandora Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) treats 80,000 m³ of sewerage per day, which accounts for 80% of Nairobi’s wastewater.

Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar railway line is a proposed 120km dual-gauge passenger line in Bangladesh. SMEC, in a joint venture with CANARAIL and Systra, provided consultancy services including feasibility study, detailed design and tendering services.

This project required significant upgrades to National Routes R21 and R24, which are key semi-urban to urban links between O.R. Tambo International Airport and Metropolitan areas. SMEC conducted a geographic information system (GIS) survey and developed a geo-database, with a GIS-based mobile application and web-based dashboards, covering the entire national highway network in Pakistan, which exceeds 12,000 kms of roads. The final solution is a comprehensive Decision Support System (DSS) that enables NHA to monitor and maintain their assets more effectively.

The Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway will connect Ahmedadbad to Dholera, near the planned Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR). The expressway will deliver a fast track road, connecting farming communities and cities.

SMEC has provided the conceptual design for an approach road to the Gote Hteik Bridge in Myanmar’s northern Shan State, a landmark project in Myanmar. The project was a joint investment by Myanmar’s Oriental Highway Company Ltd and China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd.
