The New Khanki Barrage replaced the Khanki Headworks, one of the oldest barrages in Pakistan. The Barrage is located at River Chenab. The old system also suffered from leakage through the shutter gates which impacted the irrigatable water supply. The client set out to replace the old headworks with a modern barrage with full control of flow regulation and flood protection.
